Permits & Licenses

Permits

We now have E-permits!

Prior to applying for a permit, please review the Hennepin County property map to verify the address is in Hopkins.

Once you have verified your property is in Hopkins, visit the Permit Application Portal to apply for a permit online.

You can also obtain a permit by downloading and completing the application, and emailing it to Hopkins Inspections. Some permits require you to submit additional documents or obtain additional permits, so read the application carefully.

Anyone applying for a commercial permit must submit digital copy via email to Hopkins Inspections in the City Inspections Department.

Licenses

If you have a question about whether you need a license or you need more information about licensing, contact City Hall.

Mobile Food Unit Event Registration

Any mobile food unit used by a Hopkins business or public property for a special event must be registered. The Hopkins business or special event applicant should complete this online registration form.
