Halloween in Hopkins is October 25

Break out your costumes a couple days early and head downtown for Halloween in Hopkins on Saturday, October 25, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., featuring trick-or-treating along Mainstreet, a Haunted Jail Tour at the Hopkins Police Department (11 a.m. to 2 p.m.), a costume contests (both human and pet!), kids games and more. 


Bettye LaVette and Cyril Neville Concert is October 25

Tickets are still available for the Bettye LaVette and Cyril Neville concert this Saturday, October 25, at the Hopkins Center for the Arts. Bettye LaVette, hailed by the New York Times as “one of the great soul interpreters of her generation,” and Cyril Neville, the youngest Neville brother and two-time Grammy winning icon take the stage at 8 p.m., with a social hour beginning at 7 p.m. Learn more and purchase tickets.


Hennepin County Commercial Ownership Assistance Program Applications Open October 27

Hennepin County is expanding its technical assistance offerings to support commercial real estate ownership among established small businesses at the early stages of assessing the feasibility of acquiring a specific property. Eligible small businesses seeking to acquire commercial real estate for their own use and occupancy in Hennepin County and who demonstrate a matching financial commitment can access up to $10,000 value in consulting services from real estate finance experts and other property acquisition experts.  Applications for the Commercial Ownership Assistance program will open October 27.


Pumpkin Drop-Off is November 1-6

Hopkins residents can recycle pumpkins at Hopkins Public Works, 11100 Excelsior Boulevard, November 1 through 6 between 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Drop them in the provided dumpster in the parking lot off 17th Avenue so they can be used to feed farm animals. For the safety of the animals, please remove all candles, wax and decorations. Painted pumpkins cannot be accepted.


A Night in the Andes Mountains Event is November 7

The City of Hopkins invites you to immerse yourself in the sounds and dances of the Andean culture at the Hopkins Activity Center on Friday, November 7, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The Andes Mountains traverse seven countries in South America, where the Incan Empire once flourished. Today, the descendants of the Andes civilizations continue to preserve their cultural heritage and are a testament to the resilience and creativity of its people. Join us for this free, bi-lingual event featuring live music, cultural performances and delicious food. No registration required. All are welcome. Hopkins Community Connection Project Seeking Feedback

The Hopkins Community Connection Project is collecting resident thoughts, experiences, and ideas related to engagement and belonging in the Hopkins community via a Community Connection survey. All residents are encouraged to participate to inform future programs and opportunities in Hopkins. Learn about more ways to engage on the City website. 


Share your feedback on Hennepin County's Toward Zero Deaths Acton Plan 

Hennepin County is working to build a comprehensive strategy to eliminate serious injuries and deaths on county roads. The plan seeks to reduce fatal and serious injury crashes for anyone in the right of way of county-owned roads (which include Excelsior Boulevard and Shady Oak Road in Hopkins), whether they are walking, riding, rolling, using transit or driving on county-owned roadways. Share your experience on county roads, where you see issues, and your thoughts on how to make them safer using Hennepin County's project website.
