Studio West Art Tour is September 13 and 14The Friends of the Hopkins Center for the Arts is excited to present Studio West Art Tour, an early autumn ramble through the art studios and creative spaces of Minneapolis’ western metropolitan communities on September 13 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and September 14 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tour-goers will enjoy a self-guided exploration with the opportunity to meet and greet some great artists from Minnesota and beyond, check out their work and even drive home with an original piece of art, pottery, jewelry, textile and more. 35 artists will be participating, displaying their talent at 12 sites in Hopkins, Minnetonka, Deephaven and Wayzata. Burnes Park Splash Pad Closes September 15It's the last weekend to enjoy the Burnes Park Splash Pad, which is set to close on September 15. Building Safer Communities Microgrant Applications Due September 15Applications are open for 2025 Building Safer Communities Microgrants. These one-time grants can help support programs, communication, advocacy, and organizing led by community-based organizations and community members which promote community safety and connectivity. The City will prioritize efforts that are led and influenced by Black, Indigenous, and people of color, and which are grounded in the needs of diverse Hopkins’ neighborhoods. Bulk Item Drop-Off Event is September 26, 27Broken grill taking up space in the garage? Old microwave in the basement you need to toss? The fall bulk drop-off event for all City of Hopkins residents is Friday, September 26, from 3 to 7 p.m., and Saturday, September 27, from 9 a.m. to noon. For $40, plus taxes, you can drop off one appliance and up to three cubic yards worth of trash (the equivalent of one pick-up truck load). Additional appliances are $40, plus taxes, each.
