Voting BY Absentee Ballot Begins Today

You do not have to wait until Election Day to vote. Beginning today, you can vote early by absentee ballot. Eligible voters may vote in-person at City Hall or by mail. To vote early by mail, request an absentee ballot by visiting mnvotes.org or by contacting City Hall. Absentee ballots will also be available at City Hall September 22 through November 6 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. City Hall will be open extended hours for absentee voting on Saturday, November 4 (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.) and Monday, November 6 (open until 5 p.m.). Learn more about voting in Hopkins. 

Bulk Item Drop-Off Event is September 29-30

Broken grill taking up space in the garage? Old microwave in the basement you need to toss? The fall bulk drop-off event for all City of Hopkins residents is Friday, September 29, from 3 to 7 p.m., and Saturday, September30, from 9 a.m. to noon. For $20, plus taxes, you can drop off one appliance and up to three cubic yards worth of trash (the equivalent of one pick-up truck load). Additional appliances are $20, plus taxes, each. Find more information about the drop-off event.

City Hiring Paid On-Call Firefighters,
POLICE OFFICERS

The Hopkins Fire Department is looking for experienced firefighters who have already met the state requirements for Firefighter I, Firefighter II, EMT and HAZMAT Ops to supplement the department’s needs for part-time duty crew staffing. The Hopkins Police Department is accepting applications and resumes (required) for the position of police officer. Applicants must meet the MN POST qualifications to be licensed or be licensed subsequently after hire. Interviews will take place monthly. The hiring process will remain open until filled.
